🧾 What is bulk upload?

It's a feature that allows you to upload your entire music catalog (albums, EPs, and singles) using a single CSV file, which optimizes time and reduces errors when distributing large volumes of content.

📋 What do you need?

  • CSV file with the official format provided by UMW.

  • Direct links (URL) for the audio files (one per track).

  • Direct link to the cover for each release.

  • All files must be accessible from the specified URL.

📁 File structure

The CSV file is divided into two sections:

  1. Release Level – Album, EP, or single information.

  2. Track Level – Specific details for each song.

Each row represents a track, so if your release has 10 songs, you'll need to fill out 10 rows with the data for the repeated release and the data for each song individually.

🔧 Required fields

  • Release title

  • Main genre

  • Language

  • Year of copyright and publication

  • Participants with defined roles (e.g. primary:Nombre;composer:Nombre)

  • ISRC code or "auto"if you want the system to generate it automatically

  • Link to cover (square format, minimum 3000x3000 px)

  • Link to the audio file per track (WAV/FLAC format preferred)

📌 Release types based on the number of tracks

Guy

Number of Tracks

Single

EP

4–6

Album

7 or more

The type is automatically assigned based on the number of tracks per release.

💡 Key rules

  • The file must be in .csv format , encoded in UTF-8 .

  • Don't delete columns even if you don't use certain fields.

  • Participants must be listed with their respective roles.
    Example:primary:Juan Pérez;composer:Ana Ruiz

  • Each track must have at least one lead artist and one composer.

  • File links must be downloadable without external authentication .
Examples: public Dropbox links, Google Drive (forcing download), Amazon S3, etc.

🚫 Fields not supported by bulk upload

  • Song lyrics

  • Custom notes or descriptions

  • Track start time
These fields can then be manually edited from the UMW interface.

🔄 In case of errors

If any release contains errors in the CSV, that content will not be uploaded, but valid releases will still be processed. The system will generate a report detailing the errors so you can correct them and re-upload the file.

🌍 Territory support

You can define specific countries for your rights using ISO codes (e.g. EC;CO;MX) or use "WD"to indicate worldwide distribution.

✅ Benefits of using Bulk Loading with UMW

  • You speed up the process of loading large catalogs.

  • You reduce manual errors.

  • Manage multiple releases from a single sheet.

  • Save time creating and registering works.
