📋 What Is Considered a “Product”?

A product can include any user-submitted asset, such as:

  • 🎵 Singles or tracks

  • 💿 Albums or EPs

  • 🖼️ Cover artwork or images

  • 📝 Metadata, lyrics, credits, or ISRC codes

🚫 Common Reasons for Rejection:

1. 🔊 Low Audio Quality or Poor Mastering

Tracks with excessive noise, distortion, abrupt cuts, or unfinished mastering may be rejected.

2. 📸 Unprofessional or Inappropriate Artwork

Covers that are pixelated, watermarked, badly cropped, or lacking usage rights will not be accepted.

3. ❌ Copyright Infringement or Unlicensed Content

Submissions that include unauthorized samples, unlicensed remixes, or covers without proper licensing are strictly prohibited.

4. 📛 Incorrect or Non-Standard Metadata

Misspelled titles, excessive capitalization, improper use of symbols, or inconsistent credits can trigger a rejection.

5. 🚫 Generic, Fraudulent, or Spam Content

AI-generated music with no artistic value, mass-uploaded duplicates, or clearly non-organic content may be blocked.

🛡️ Why Does This Matter?

UMW aims to protect both the artist and the company’s professional standing:

✅ Ensures your release has a fair chance of success
✅ Prevents automatic rejections by major DSPs (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.)
✅ Maintains the overall quality and reputation of the UMW catalog

📨 What Happens If Your Product Is Rejected?

  • You'll receive a notification explaining the reason

  • You may be allowed to revise and resubmit the content

  • In some cases, support may help improve your submission

  • If the issue is legal or serious, the content may be permanently blocked
