π When Can Content Be Removed?
Several valid scenarios allow a user or UMW to request or initiate content removal
:
β 1. Voluntary Request by the User
You can request a takedown at any time for personal, strategic, or commercial reasons β such as moving to another distributor, rebranding, making edits, or relaunching a project. π¨
β 2. Expired or Modified License Agreement
If a product was uploaded under a temporary or sublicensed contract that has since expired, it may be removed accordingly. β
β 3. Legal or Rights Issues
Content may be taken down if there are reports of copyright infringement, sample misuse, ownership disputes, or other legal concerns. βοΈπ¨
β 4. Editorial Decision by UMW
UMW may choose to remove content that does not meet technical, artistic, or quality standards as outlined in platform or company policies. ποΈπ§Ή
β οΈ When Is Free Takedown NOT Available?
In some cases, free native takedown is not allowed or may incur penalties, such as:
π¨ Content associated with streaming fraud or artificial activity
βοΈ Works involved in ownership or publishing disputes
β Releases that violate DSP guidelines or upload policies
π³ Content takedown requests under basic subscription plans without justification
π οΈ How Do I Request a Takedown?
Through your UMW Core dashboard or by contacting official support
Include a clear reason and metadata (title, UPC, release ID, etc.)
Processing time may vary between 5 to 15 business days, depending on the platform and complexity
π What Happens After the Takedown?
Your release will be removed from streaming/download platforms
Sales and royalty reports will be updated accordingly
Any royalties earned up until the takedown date will still be processed and paid
The content will be archived in UMWβs system for internal records, but no longer publicly available
