This guide will walk you through how to correctly assign royalty splits so that all contributors to a release are fairly credited and automatically paid.

🔍 What Are Royalty Splits?

Royalty splits refer to the percentage of revenue allocated to each contributor involved in a track—artists, producers, songwriters, and others.
Correctly setting up splits is essential to ensure transparency, avoid conflicts, and streamline automated payments.

✅ Step-by-Step Guide to Completing the Splits Form

1. Add Your Collaborators

Click “Add Collaborator” to include everyone involved in the release.

For each person, fill out the following fields:

  • First Name & Last Name – Use the full legal name for verification and compliance.

  • Email Address – Must be a valid and active email; this is how our system will send notifications and approval requests.

  • Split Percentage (%) – Enter the exact share this contributor should receive.

  • The total must equal 100% in order to proceed.

📌 Pro Tip: Discuss splits with your team in advance to ensure a smooth process.

2. Using “Track Splits” (Optional)

If your release includes multiple tracks with different contributors per song, click “Use Track Splits” to define splits for each individual track.

This option is ideal for collaborative albums or EPs with varying credits across songs.

3. Review and Submit

Before clicking “Submit,” double-check the following:

✅ All names are spelled correctly
✅ All emails are valid and active
✅ The total split equals exactly 100%
✅ Each collaborator has agreed to their percentage
