📚 What Exactly Does “Product” Mean?

According to the agreement, a “Product” refers to any digital content that the user (artist, label, or rights holder) submits to UMW for distribution via its platform. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • 🎧 Musical works (tracks, albums, EPs, singles)

  • 🖼️ Artwork or cover images

  • 🎬 Music videos or other visual content

  • 📑 Associated metadata (titles, credits, ISRC/UPC codes, etc.)

  • 📲 Other digital assets packaged as a complete release unit

📍 Why Is This Definition Important?

Because it clearly outlines what materials are covered by the agreement, and what both the user and UMW are authorized to manage and distribute.

🔒 It protects the intellectual property of the artist
🚚 It ensures proper digital delivery across platforms
💰 It allows for accurate royalty calculation
⚖️ It defines the legal scope of the distribution deal

Simple Example:

If you upload an album with 10 tracks, official cover art, and metadata, that entire package is considered a single “Product” within the UMW Core system.
