1. What audio format and quality does UMW recommend for uploading my music?
To ensure the best quality across all digital platforms, we recommend:
Upload your tracks in WAV format (uncompressed).
Avoid mp3 files or other compressed formats, especially if they have already been re-exported many times.
Check that your master is not clipping or distorting.
Ask your mixing or mastering engineer for the final file ready for digital distribution .
The better the quality of the file you upload, the better your music will sound in the stores.
2. What is the difference between a single, EP, and album on the platform?
This classification helps stores display your music correctly:
Single: usually 1 song (sometimes 2), with a focus on a main theme.
EP: usually has between 3 and 6 songs and an average duration.
Album: more extensive projects, with several songs and a longer total duration.
If you're unsure, think of it this way:
Few songs and timely release → Single
Several songs, but not that long → EP
Complete project, with many songs → Album .
3. How far in advance should I upload my release?
The more advance notice you have, the less risk of problems:
Recommended: Upload your release 10–14 days before the desired date.
Minimum technical notice: 5 days in advance , to allow time for review and delivery to stores.
If you want to pitch to editorial playlists or strong campaigns, always try to allow 2-3 weeks ' notice.
4. Can I change the release date after submitting it?
It depends on the status of your launch:
If the release is still under review and has not been sent to stores, the date can usually be changed.
If the release has already been delivered , changing the date may require:
Settings that some stores accept and others don't, or
Withdraw and relaunch the product in certain cases.
If you need to change the date, please contact us through support indicating:
Release title + UPC + new requested date + reason for change.
