What is considered explicit content?
Content is considered explicit when it contains any of the following elements:
Offensive or vulgar language (swear words, insults, profanity).
Explicit sexual references or highly erotic content.
Condoning or glorifying drugs, violence, weapons, or illegal behavior.
Discriminatory content or hate speech.
Expressions that may be sensitive for minors.
Important : This criterion applies to both lyrics and track or album titles .
How to mark your content as explicit?
During the creation phase of your UMW release, follow these steps:
Go to the “Track” section of the distribution module.
Within the metadata form for each track, you'll find the option:
“Does it contain explicit content?”
Select Yes if the track contains any of the aforementioned elements.
This tag will be automatically applied to the track name with the [Explicit] tag on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, etc.
