UMW Recordings Inc. implements a detection, labeling, and validation system that ensures all sensitive material is properly identified.

What is considered explicit content?

Content is considered explicit when it contains any of the following elements:

  • Offensive or vulgar language (swear words, insults, profanity).

  • Explicit sexual references or highly erotic content.

  • Condoning or glorifying drugs, violence, weapons, or illegal behavior.

  • Discriminatory content or hate speech.

  • Expressions that may be sensitive for minors.

Important : This criterion applies to both lyrics and track or album titles .

How to mark your content as explicit?

During the creation phase of your UMW release, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the “Track” section of the distribution module.

  2. Within the metadata form for each track, you'll find the option:

    “Does it contain explicit content?”

Select Yes if the track contains any of the aforementioned elements.

  3. This tag will be automatically applied to the track name with the [Explicit] tag on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, etc.
