When a work from UMWβs catalog is publicly used in Ecuador β whether on the radio, at a concert, on digital platforms, or in any public space β SAYCE collects the income generated from that use. π΅π»π±
π What happens next?
πΉ 1. Editorial contracts are reviewed
SAYCE doesn't distribute royalties randomly. The process is guided strictly by the publishing agreements signed between authors/composers and UMW. These contracts define how the royalties should be split (e.g., between author, composer, publisher). πβοΈ
πΉ 2. The agreed split is applied
Using the terms of these contracts, SAYCE calculates the correct percentage for each rights holder. That way, everyone gets exactly what theyβre entitled to. ππ
πΉ 3. Payments are made to each beneficiary
Once everything is processed, SAYCE distributes the royalties to each party involved β acting as a transparent and reliable intermediary between UMW, the creators, and the royalty collection system. πΈπ€
π Important to note:
SAYCE does not alter or decide the royalty shares. Its role is to enforce the terms already agreed upon in the contracts, making sure the process is fair and accurate. πβ
